Educational Goals and Strategies

We cultivate a global energy leader who is responsible for the sustainability and security of energy supply in Korea through the research and education about advanced energy convergence technologies.

Our goal is to cultivate global energy leaders to strengthen the energy security of Korea through improving the sustainability of fossil energy and nuclear energy. To achieve this goal, the energy system engineering educational teams were reorganized into 5 teams (Energy resource exploration and development, production systems for foundation energy, energy safety and clean energy technologies, next generation energy technologies, and energy economics and policy education). Through our educational system, students are trained to create new technology and to think comprehensively and make the decision based on energy security and economic or technical situation of the country. Currently, the demand for human resource in energy related field of Korea is very high, and thus we are expanding the international academic activities for the graduate students and strengthening programs supporting our excellent graduate students through the scholarships and incentives.

Research Goals and Strategies

We develop core technologies for sustainable foundation energy sources, lead the technology transfer from academy to industry and, thus, strengthen national energy security of Korea.

Our goal is to develop core technologies for the reliability and sustainability of fossil fuels and nuclear energy. Therefore, research objectives include securing the stable energy supply of fossil fuels, improving the environmental impacts, and developing spent nuclear fuel processing technologies or nuclear fusion technologies.
We should take advantage of the existing international network signed in order to secure and strengthen the international competitiveness of our research capabilities and signed a new network and strengthen international cooperation. We gather information on the latest technology trends and leadership skills through interaction with the IAEA and other international organizations to set up a detailed technical direction. We work based on the replacement of the participating faculty evaluation and incentives, student research capacity to support by placing a differential rate Establish a system to be strengthened.
